Election Integrity Update

Wisconsin will have its first election of 2026 on February 17th for the Spring Primary Election. This election will cover local races to narrow the candidate selection for nonpartisan races on the April ballot. Whether or not you have a race on the ballot for the Spring Primary will depend on where you live, so if you are unsure check MyVote.WI.gov for information using the "What's On My Ballot" feature.

Absentee ballots: Wisconsin voters can request an absentee ballot for all 2026 elections at once through MyVote.WI.gov

Election Workers & Observers Update

For those serving as Election Inspectors (Poll Workers) for the 2026 election cycle, your local clerk should have reached out regarding training, paperwork, and election scheduling. If you have not received any information from the clerk at this point in time, please make sure to check your email SPAM folder and call their office to ensure you are scheduled to work the February Primary Election.

For those serving as Election Observers, remember that you must bring a form of identification and sign in before observing at a polling location on election day. Remember, Wisconsin has new observer rules in place that will be utilized for the first time on February 17th for the primary. If you are unfamiliar with these new rules, you can read and review them via the Wisconsin Election Commission website

If you have any questions regarding working or observing the elections in 2026, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or your local county party for information!

Looking Ahead: The April Ballot

The April 7 Spring Election presents Wisconsin Republicans with a critical opportunity to preserve a conservative seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Judge Maria Lazar is running for this open seat, standing firmly for a principled judiciary that respects both the meaning and intent of the law.  Judge Lazar has drawn a clear line in the sand to "stop the destruction of our courts," pledging to serve as an independent, impartial judge who strives to follow the law and Constitution in every decision.

Her opponent, Christ Taylor, could not be further from the standard of a fair and impartial jurist. During her time in the Wisconsin Legislature, Taylor repeatedly worked to undermine election laws designed to protect the integrity of our elections. In 2019, she introduced Assembly Bill 320, which sought to allow 17 year olds to vote, despite clear state and federal requirements that voters be at least 18 years old on Election Day. In 2016, Taylor openly opposed voter ID laws, dismissing them as "nonsensical." Earlier, in 2011, Taylor introduced Assembly Bill 460, which would have effectively eliminated safeguards for students voting on college campuses by allowing student IDs with only a name and photo as an acceptable form of voter ID. This would have removed essential requirements such as expiration dates, signatures, and even proof of current enrollment.

This race is undeniably consequential. Wisconsin cannot afford to seat another liberal judicial advocate on its highest court, one who disregards the intent, structure, and dignity of the law. Judge Lazar is a constitutionally grounded candidate, not an activist jurist like Chris Taylor, who consistently elevates her party's values above the Constitution itself.
